196 LF Directional Boring & PVC Conduit Installation

Devco Development & Engineering completed a 196 linear foot directional boring and trenching project. The scope included utility potholing, trench excavation, conduit installation, mule tape placement, debris haul off, backfill, and concrete restoration.

Utility Verification via Potholing

  • Performed potholing using an 8-inch core drilling method to verify existing underground utilities.
  • Confirmed utility locations along the bore path as marked by a private locator (provided by others) and USA Dig Alert.
  • Ensured safe exposure of utilities prior to drilling operations.

Directional Boring Operations

  • Provided labor and equipment to directionally bore approximately 196 linear feet.
  • Completed bore alignment to accommodate underground conduit installation.

Trenching & Conduit Installation

  • Saw cut designated trench paths to maintain clean pavement edges.
  • Trenched approximately 40 linear feet for installation of:
    • (2) 1.5-inch Schedule 40 PVC conduits
    • (1) 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit
  • Blew ¾-inch mule tape into newly installed conduits for future cable pulls.

Excavation Safety & Material Handling

  • Provided steel trench plates for excavation areas outside fenced locations.
  • Installed plywood protection within fenced bore pit areas.
  • Provided trucking and haul-off of debris generated during excavation.

Backfill & Restoration

  • Backfilled trenches with native soil.
  • Repaved and repaired concrete trench areas to trench width only.

Project Schedule

  • Work performed during weekday shift schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Project Outcome

The project was completed safely and efficiently, with accurate utility verification, precise conduit installation, and clean concrete restoration. Devco maintained proper site protection and debris management throughout the duration of the work.
