Vallejo Underground Utility Project: Traffic Control & Pipe Replacement
Project Scope Overview
Devco Development & Engineering is providing full turnkey underground utility services in San Diego, including trenching, pipe replacement, and traffic control.
Traffic Control
Devco has obtained and is maintaining a valid USA North dig alert ticket to ensure all underground public utilities are properly identified before any trenching or pipe replacement work begins. This step ensures safety, compliance, and efficiency in San Diego’s busy infrastructure network.
Pipe Replacement Work
Devco will remove and replace approximately 100 feet of existing 4-inch pipe with new 6-inch HDPE pipe (or equivalent, pending city approval). The new pipe will follow the existing alignment and maintain a 2% slope for optimal flow and system performance.
Installation Details
- South End: Pipe installation begins at approximately 8 feet below ground.
- North End: Pipe alignment will pass under four lanes of Curtola Boulevard, ending at approximately 10 feet below ground.
Devco will supply all new 6-inch HDPE pipe and oversee the complete installation process, including trench excavation, pipe pulling, backfilling, and final restoration.
