Golf Course Irrigation Directional Boring Project – Riverside County, CA

Devco Development & Engineering completed a directional boring project for a golf course irrigation infrastructure upgrade in Riverside County, California. The work included utility delineation, horizontal directional drilling, reaming, and pullback of customer-supplied HDPE or PVC pipe.

Project Overview

This project involved multiple directional bore runs across a golf course property to support new irrigation infrastructure. Horizontal directional drilling was used to help reduce surface disruption and limit the amount of open-cut trenching required across finished and landscaped areas.

Utility Delineation

  • USA Dig Alert: Devco secured and maintained a valid USA ticket before the start of work.
  • Utility Awareness: Existing utility conflicts were reviewed before drilling operations began.
  • Site Coordination: Bore paths were planned around existing site conditions, finished areas, and underground utility concerns.

Directional Boring Scope

  • Performed multiple horizontal directional bore shots throughout the project area.
  • Reamed bore paths to prepare for pipe pullback.
  • Pulled customer-supplied and assembled HDPE or PVC pipe through completed bore paths.
  • Installed multiple pipe configurations for golf course irrigation infrastructure.
  • Completed boring work for approximately 2,700+ linear feet of underground pipe installation.

Pipe Sizes and Configurations

  • Directional boring for 4” HDPE or PVC pipe.
  • Directional boring for 6” HDPE or PVC pipe.
  • Directional boring for 12” HDPE or PVC pipe.
  • Completed both single-pipe and multi-pipe bore configurations.
  • Coordinated parallel bore work where required for the irrigation layout.

Golf Course Construction Considerations

  • Used trenchless construction methods to reduce disturbance to finished areas.
  • Coordinated work around sensitive golf course surfaces, landscaping, and irrigation infrastructure.
  • Helped limit unnecessary excavation compared to traditional open trench installation.
  • Planned boring operations to support efficient installation across multiple areas of the property.

Support Services

  • Utility potholing support was available to verify utility depths where bore paths crossed existing utilities.
  • Bore pit excavation support was available as needed for boring operations.
  • Hydro excavation and bore pit support could be coordinated depending on field conditions and project requirements.

Project Outcome

This Riverside County golf course irrigation project was completed using horizontal directional drilling methods to support underground pipe installation with reduced surface disruption. Devco provided the directional boring, reaming, and pipe pullback expertise needed to help move the irrigation infrastructure upgrade forward efficiently and professionally.
